Topographical Survey LiDAR data processing
LiDAR data has got application areas like floodplain , coastal zone mapping, highways alignment mapping, infrastructure objects mapping etc. For example LiDAR derived digital elevation models DTM) are useful for defining flood zone boundaries and plan remediation and mitigation strategies in floodplain mapping studies.
Preliminary processing involves filtering the data for LiDAR “noise” points which are extremely high or low points outside the range of realistic elevations for the project area.
